Finally a day of no school, no homework to do, and can relax with some of her anime she's been meaning to do. However that wasn't the case. Today she had to watch the shrine while her grandmother did some errands. Her brother at college and her father had work today. So Shiro was all alone today. Thankfully she asked if she could have some help and her grandmother agreed to it. And so she called her friend Kage.
Waiting by the shrine sweeping the walkway in her miko attire of a white haori with red hakama. She was checking on her phone seeing if Kage would arrive anytime soon. Hopefully no one else would arrive while she is alone. Suddenly an idea came to her mind. Maybe she could get Kage into a miko outfit as well. She would think about it when her friend finally arrived.

Kage had PLANNED to spend the day working on the play. She had even planned to get in some practice with her bodhran, but noooo. Shiro needed help at the shrine and Kage couldn't deny her friend help. So, sadly, Kage had put down the script and gotten dressed. She had initially planned to make today a pajama day. Oh well. She took the time to brush out her long, wavy black hair and pull it into the loose corckscrew pigtails. She loved the way her hair curled at the bottom.
She checked her phone. Shiro was asking where she was. She rolled her eyes and got dressed, settling on a band-tee with fishnet sleeves, torn black jeans which she tucked into platform boots that strapped up her calves. She shrugged on a jacket that almost looked like a straight jacket and rushed out the door.
"Miss Treasa, would you like me to bring the car-" Kouta began, but Kage cut him off.
"Nay. It's fine. I'll walk!" she called over her shoulder, pulling open the door. She rushed down the street toward the shrine, shooting a text to Shiro that she was on her way. Twenty minutes later, she was walking up the steps.
"Oi. I'm here."

Shiro was waiting for a while knowing Kage was a little while away. It felt like she was waiting for thirty minutes or so. When she finally spotted her friend after getting the text she literally ran and glomped her friend. "Oh my gosh I am so happy your here. I actually need you to do something else to. Since your going to help at the shrine... Your going to have to wear what I'm wearing."
She knew Kage was not going to like this, but it was the only agreement her grandmother came to for her friend to come over. If she was going to have help on the shrine they have to wear the traditional miko attire. Thankfully her grandmother had multiple spare white haoris with red hakamas. "Ok so follow me."
She took her friend inside and got her the change of clothing that will hopefully fit.

Kage raised an eyebrow as Shiro came running over the moment Kage reached the top of the stairs. Kage made sure to move forward a bit so that she and Shiro didn't go tumbling backwards to their deaths.
"Oi, careful, Murtair. Yer gonna kill me if he knock me over," she growled at Shiro, though a genuine smile came to her face. At least Kage wouldn't be forced to spend the afternoon with Yuri as well. That was bound to end in Kage beating the shit out of the little princess. Kage's thoughts were broken by Shiro's announcement that she needed to change.
"Eh? Wait, what? Ye didna say-" Too late. Shiro was dragging her off to change. "Wait a minute, I dunnay even know how ter put something like this on!" she argued. Thankfully Shiro helped. Kage grumbled as Shiro forced her to lower her hair so that it could be pulled back and tied with some white fabric. Kage felt a little weird. She wasn't Japanese and she felt like she shouldn't even be wearing this stuff.
"I feel weird," she grumbled to Shiro.

Shiro had apologized about almost knocking Kage over and... to their death but they were alive. She really know Kage was not going to be happy about wearing the miko attire, but it was tradition and couldn't ruin the shrines name. Yet she almost did forget that her friend wasn't from Japan so she had to help her put on the outfit. It did take them a few tried to find the right size since most were a bit big. But thankfully they found the right size that would fit perfectly on Kage. For a moment when Kage was all set in her miko outfit Shiro swore she looked just like the two girls in that show. The one where a girl falls down a well going back in time an gathering a sacred jewel that was scattered with a hafe demon and her friends. Also like a sailor senshi that has two pet crows from that other anime with magic girls that save the Earth.
When she heard Kage didn't like it she quickly walked up and put her hands on her friend's shoulders. "Kage you look amazing. You look just like that a few anime characters. You look amazing like you were born to wear this."

"Great...I look like anime characters." THAT certainly made her day. Not. "I look like a cartoon. I'm going to go change..." No doubt Shiro would stop her and Kage would sigh, shaking her head. When Shiro mentioned she looked born to wear this, she scoffed. "Only if I'm performing in a play," she muttered. She shook her head and looked around a moment. She wondered if her mother came here as a girl....prayed at the shrine...drew fortunes...celebrated new years. She wished she had learned more about her mother's life in Japan...wished she knew more. Her grandmother wouldn't talk about her mother.
"So....what do ye want me ter do?"

"Well then this will be great practice for a future part in a play as a miko." She was trying to cheer up her friend who seemed not to keen about the anime character comparison. Knowing that they had had a lot to do at the shrine she pulled out a list of things they will be needing to do. Looks like one was to clean out some of the stuff in the shed in the back. Who knows how long that has been untouched. There most likely would be a lot of spiders and dust. They also haven't collected the donations to the shrine for the week so guess it was time to collect that as well.
"Well I think we should clean the front of the shrine a bit. The bell is a bit damaged and we finally have a replacement. It's going to take both of use to take care of that. And the shed needs some cleaning to."

"Aye, if I ever get picked fer a part like that, but I highly doubt that will ever happen. I'm too much of a sassanach...er....outlander." Kage gave a bit of a grin. Sometimes she still slipped into Gaelic during normal conversation. Her friends all seemed to be patient and help her find the right words in Japanese.
Kage listened to Shiro list off the chores. It reminded Kage of the chores back on the farm. Hard work an sweat, though normally she'd be in a tank top, if it wasn't cold, and jeans. Still, she relished in the chance to do some REAL work. Everytime she tried to help out at home, her grandmother's staff tended to shoo her away like she wouldn't know what to do.
"Sounds like a right day of hard work. I'm lookin' forward to it," she said with a grin.

He'd been planning on getting a painting he'd been working on finished. It was really coming along and he'd been looking forward to a free day. Then the text messages from his little sister, Elizabeth, started.
'I'm doing a project!' 'I want a picture of a Miko!' 'And a shrine!' 'Go and find me pictures!' 'And get me something from Akihabara.'
She was his little sister so he couldn't rightly tell her to fuck off, so he'd got up early and abandoned his painting to head into the city. Usually for any occasion requiring him to go to a shrine, he went to Meiji Jingu but apparently this one was closer and he wouldn't have to ride the train as long to get to it.
Apparently it was called Kouyou Jinja. It looked nice enough, he supposed. Elizabeth hadn't specified what shrine she wanted pictures from so this would have to do. And he could even see a couple of Miko as he headed up the steps. It would do for now.
He tugged at his beanie, pulling it forwards as he turned his camera on. He'd had it since he was 6, his old name was still carved on the edge, even through numerous attempts to scratch it off.
Lifting his camera up he took a picture, then looked at the result. Good enough, he wasn't going to be photographer of the year for Elizabeth, she should have been grateful he was even doing it. Getting closer he seemed to recognize one of the shrine maidens. He blinked in surprise.
"Uh. Treasa, right? Didn't know you worked here."

Where on Earth was this shrine again? Hyacinth squinted down at her phone, tracing over the map. She seemed to be going the right way, but she didn't see anything... until she dragged her gaze up and caught the stairs several metres away. Alright. She wasn't as in shape as Rose was. Hyacinth hoped she could make it the ridiculous trek up. Hyacinth swallowed, checked to make sure her purse was secure, and began making her way up. It felt so strange being here this time of year, in her striped tank top and mock denim jacket skirt (which Rose had specifically called "horrendous," as if Hyacinth had asked for her opinion!) Hyacinth felt as if she ought to have been in a New Year's kimono, but it was both much too hot and nowhere near January. She had a different reason for coming here in the first place. One of the elusive Host Club members was supposed to live at this shrine, so it had to be booming with popularity. If Hyacinth wanted to get her Engineering Club off the ground, asking them to hand out flyers about it would be just the trick. She could feel it! Someone from their godforsaken school had to visit this place eventually! Hyacinth finished the trek up, spying two miko already at work. Good. But which one of them was the Host Club member? She'd gleaned over their website before coming here, and -- Oh. There was Treasa. Hyacinth blinked, gaze shifting between her, the other girl, and -- hold on, that was Matthew, wasn't it? "You again?" She said, moving next to him with a raised eyebrow. "We're breaking a rule of probability somewhere."

Shiro could see a small smile forming on Kage's face when she was listing off the chores. Guess it was something Kage was use to back in her home country. Yet she felt that way to when she worked at the shrine with her grandmother. She even started at a very young age too. Thinking of doing this with a friend would be even more fun. So thankfully she had finished cleaning part of the shrine. However the pathway to the shrine still had some leaves."Let's get started at least."
And so the two began sweeping the pathway to the shrine for any guest to visit the shrine to enter to a clean path. They had only maybe had hafe the pathway cleaned when some guests arrived. One who seemed to be taking photos and another that they were just looking around. She decided to approach them both as she was taught to do.
"Hello. Welcome to the shrine. May I help you w-" She was about to continue when one spotted Kage and the other spazed at the male shrine guest. This was going to be interesting.

Kage didn't need to be told twice. She took a broom and began sweeping. It was dull work, but that was alright. Kage's mind could zone off to reciting scripts in her head to see how much she'd actually memorized while she worked. She could have stayed like that for hours...if not for the familiar voices that were pulling her out of her thoughts and the performance in her head. She looked up from what she was doing and stared at the familiar face.
It took her a moment to register it was Matthew, Crystal's friend. "Ah! Matthew! Latha bréagha a tha ann(Good day to you)!" She stared at him a moment, confused. "Huh...? Oh! No, I donnay work here. I'm just helping out fer the day. Shiro's a friend from school." She smiled a bit at Hyacinth.
"Hello, Bogha," she greeted.

"And good afternoon to you." Matthew replied in Gaelic, fiddling with his camera. Raising an eyebrow at her and her outfit, he grinned slightly, "Don't be embarrassed, it suits you,"
Looking up as Hyacinth arrived, he swallowed slightly but managed to grin when she spoke, "Maybe it's just fate. Or probability likes us." Looking up at Shiro he gave a curt nod, and a shrug of the shoulder as he lifted his camera up to take a picture of the shrine behind her.
"I'm just here for pictures for my sister's project." He said curtly, taking another one. Lowering his camera and scrolling through the pictures he'd taken, he frowned, deleting a couple. Looking up at the assembled girls, he shrugged slightly.
"My sister's doing a project on... I don't even know, she wanted pictures of shrines and shrine maidens and clearly she couldn't go on fucking Google." He shrugged, "Dont panic, I won't be long."

Hyacinth dragged her eyes unwillingly toward Treasa, bracing herself for more tears. Relief flooded over her when she found Treasa not only dry-eyed, but smiling. Much better. She managed a smile back. "Hello, Treasa. You can use my name, you know. I do have one." 'Bogha' sounded unsavoury now - like the butt of a children's joke about snot.
She looked back at Matthew. "I think it's coincidence." A very strained sort of coincidence. "You don't honestly believe in 'fate,' do you?" It was all hogwash. Just something to make stupid people feel better about their lives. It wasn't real.
She nodded along as Matthew talked about his sister's project, eyes wandering down toward his camera. There was a name etched into it. She squinted. It looked familiar. She could almost read -- Oh! "Is your sister named Bailey? I knew a Bailey back in Glasgow, but it was a while ago! We lost contact… from the move." She knew she was prying, but she couldn't even begin to help herself! Her nerves felt all a-flutter over this!

Shiro was glad to see that Kage did have other friends and this was the first time she was meeting them. She looked at the guy and nodded when she heard that he was taking pictures of the shrine. "Its alright. You can take as many photos as you need and take all the time you need." She said with a smile, the same ones she use to make anyone happy.
Listened into the conversation and well was keeping an eye out for any more guests. When she heard the female guest say it's like fate that they met. Shiro pulled up a little quote from a show. She went into her little Yuuko wise person stance when quoting this line. "There is no such thing as coincidence, only inevitability."
She most likely got glances from that but she just smiled and giggled. Continued to let them to have a conversation amounst them when she heard a little familar yiping sound behind her. Behind her would be a little silver fox with a little old fashion style rope bow around its neck like a collar. Shiro turned around walking towards the little guy crouching down to give the fox a petting session. "Vivi! There you are. I was wondering when you show up today."
