Ryan didn't know what Spencer and Finn kept being so dodgy about! All day in between their usual banter, there'd been some kind of air of secrecy around them. That extended to Ageha - she was always pushy about his clothes, but as soon as he'd rolled out of bed today, she'd been in his room, literally throwing an outfit at him. It... was kind of weird. Every time he went out with Finn, Ageha would just make snarky comments about how he should look As Unattractive As Possible.
Well, she'd picked well today. He liked his outfit now (his favourite black crop top with the phases of the moon on it, paired with some cute high-waisted shorts he and Ageha had laboured over to make from a pair of old jeans) and the addition of Finn's purple flannel made it even better! It looked way better on Finn, but Ryan thought it was acceptable on him for now.
He didn't suspect anything, even when Spencer practically threw him to the ground to get to the door before he did, shoving his phone back into his pocket. Spencer was just being weird and Spencer-y again. Ryan shot him a confused glance, walking into the house.

Crystal felt Kage pull and dig into her arm and gave a gentle smile. She placed her hand over Kage's listening to the conversation that Matthew was trying to start up with Kage. She was glad that they both seemed to be trying though she didn't know if Matthew was the best to help Kage with her fear. Well...he also didn't know about her fear of men. Privilege of being the girlfriend certainly helped!
Though Crystal just had to frown when Matthew ruffled her hair. She had tamed her hair just not long ago and now he messed it up. "Matt!" She whined, switching to English, her British accent coming through as she walked with them to the door. "Why do you always mess with my hair? You know I hate that!" She sighed and tried to fix it the best she could as they headed inside and smiled to Ageha. "Hey!" She greeted.
"Hello, Kagami-chan. Are you avoiding, Yuri-chan again?" Walking inside, Crystal gently pulled Kage along with Kagami since she wanted to be saved mostly likely, towards the gift table. She put down the bag and let go of Kage's arm, taking the box from Petal Bakery and placed it on the table. A top the box was clear, inside being a dozen of Ryan's favorite cupcakes though with an adjustment: the decorative frosting made them into Yoshi eggs.
It was then that Spencer was quickly and as quietly as possible rounding everyone back towards the front door. That could mean only one thing: Ryan was finally there! Crystal giggled silently to herself, moving to the door and waited for it to open.

Kage's eyes widened when he spoke to her in Gaelic. "Abair thu Gaidhlig(You speak Gaelic)?" she asked him, thoroughly surprised. Suddenly, she felt a little more at ease. It had been so long since she had heard the mother tongue from someone other than her brothers. She missed the way it felt on her tongue, the way it felt like music, hearing it from someone else.
She lifted a hand and ran it over Crystal's hair to help with the mess. "I dunnay, Gael, you look good with bedhead," she teased, winking at Crystal. Oooh, she was such a flirt. Her attention was drawn to the door and to Ageha when it opened. At least in public they could be civil to each other. Especially for Ryan's sake. "Hey, Senpai," she greeted. Oh right. Japanese household. No outdoor shoes inside. She wrinkled her nose and unclipped her boots, sliding out of them and stepping into the house.
No sooner had she come inside, then did Kagami come rushing over to her. She blinked in surprise. "Gnosach, the heel's the rush?" she asked, her accent think in her words. She had a nickname for each of the Hostesses, though she'd never actually told any of them, except Crystal, what they meant.

The door was opening, the door was opening, and Ageha still wasn't sure if everyone had gathered at the front door like she'd screamed for them to about a million times. It took a particularly reedy belt, reaching as far as she could into her head voice, to get everyone's attention properly.
Honestly.
The door seemed to take centuries to glide open. Once it did, once Ryan's unassuming face came into view, everyone yelled surprise. Minnie barked and launched herself at Ryan. Someone -- probably Souta, she'd asked him -- was supposed to take a picture of Ryan's reaction. She could catch Finn beaming and felt something similar stretching across her own face, wide and as vibrant as the flutters spreading through her.

From the messages on the group chat it seemed like everything was going according to plan! He'd wanted to come up with a code name for the whole plan but after... encouragement not too from Ageha, had given up in the endeavor. He'd been rather disappointed.
There seemed to be a slight... kerfuffle near the door. The pink haired girl and the red haired one seemed to be having some sort of glaring match... Ugh. The Chloe meme came to mind. It was seriously a case of 'Could you fucking not??' It was Ryan's surprise party for god's sake! Why were people starting arguments. Souta supposed he should be grateful that Ryan wasn't there to see it.
Grabbing the box of purple ribbons he headed towards the door trying to firmly usher the people further into the house to make room for more people. Once the people hanging around had been unceremoniously pushed further into the house Ageha started screaming.
Souta was on the other side of the room and he was almost certain he was going to be deaf. How was she loud? From so far away?
Grabbing his phone and turning the camera on he waited as the door opened... slowly... slowly. Then Ryan was in the doorway and he took five pictures, quickly one after the other. Lowering his phone, a wide smile spread across Souta's face as he straightened up, practically beaming at Ryan.

Ryan stepped in, more confused than anything at first by the amount of people in Ageha's house. She didn't like people, why were there people here? Then, as soon as the confusion hit, the surprise did.
He clapped his hands over his face immediately, a beaming smile spreading across his face. Why would they all do this for him? There had to have been so much planning! How had they managed to keep it a secret?
He peeked out from between his fingers, turning to look at the (beaming) Spencer and Finn. So that was why they'd been so antsy! And why Ageha had been so insistent he go out today and wear something specific, and... and...
Ryan kicked off his shoes and picked up Minnie, who was still waiting patiently for him to pay attention to her. She licked his face, her own cute puppy way of saying 'happy birthday and also I love you'. His hands were still shaking, but for once it wasn't from fear or nerves, he was just so happy. He couldn't say anything more than a tiny, squeaked-out "thank you" but that was enough, probably.

Kai couldnt help but giggle as Suzume bowed and kissed her hand, a light pink color staining her cheeks in her excitement. He seemed so nice, and when he complimented her on her own outfit Kai smiled even bigger then she had before.
"You like it?" She twirled around once in excitment, pivoting on the heel of her shoe. "My Mama got it for me while she was away!" Thoughts of her mother always brought a certain sadness; not knowing when she would be home again was hard. But this was Kai, and Kai was almost incapable of staying anything but happy for prolonged periods of time.
"I forgot to wear purple, though." She said, rubbing the back of her neck in embarressment. "Its a good thing they made these ribbons! And theyre so cute!"
"You want to be a Host?" The little girls face lit up, excitement shining in her eyes. She loved the Host club, it gave her a chance to meet new people and make new friends, which she had. "Well, you're really nice and really cute, I think you'd make a great Host!"
Her attention was stolen by the apparent birthday boy coming into the house. When everyone cheered happy birthday, Kai enthusiastically joined in, clapping her hands afterwards with a joyous laugh. So his name was Ryan... That was probably good to know.
She turned to Suzume with a smile.. "We should go say happy birthday to him!" She said, nodding her head to where Ryan was now standing.

Yuri overheard Kagami and two of her other fellow Hostesses; Kage and Crystal. Crystal, Yuri didn't mind at all. She was sweet, gentle and her style sense, though simple, was definitely cute and worthy of some praise from Yuri. That Kage girl though...that was another story. They didn't not get along at all. Yuri hated her fashion sense! All that black along with the darker purples? It felt like she deserved to be in the Black Magic Club with how she looked. Yet, she was made into a Hostess? That completely baffled Yuri's mind.
She sighed and straightened up. She was not allowed to slack and slouch now! She had no heels on! That still upset her. A voice rang out into the house; it seemed the person that the party was for was just about here. Yuri took her spot by the door, purposely making her way away from Kagami and Kage as much as possible. Yuri, being the gymnast she was, jumped as she yelled out surprise to this Ryan, landing back down with ease and gave a rather satisfied nod and smile to herself.
Now, I just have to introduce myself and make mention I'm in the host club. From there, I can figure out what's going on.

Well, now that Ryan (and Finn) were here, Prim would be well occupied. Hyacinth never planned on having to occupy Prim in the first place, but Finn's presence ensured her freedom. She was starved. Where was the food? Perhaps near the gift table? She had to put her gift -- just some money, honestly, she didn't know Ryan well enough to get them anything personal -- down, anyways. Hyacinth wandered over there, hoping she was right. Of course the food was near the gift table. Had to be. She could already tell she wasn't in the mood to trek all the way to one side of this oversized house and back just to eat something. Well, she looked cute today. She'd picked out a high-waisted skirt with purple, blue, and cyan fractal patterning and a teal crop top to go along with it. Certainly suitable for a party, and for convincing some boy to get food for her if it was too far away.

Matthew smiled slightly when Ryan entered. At least Ryan seemed happy? It was all worth it then.
Once he'd put the gift for Ryan down he walked over towards the food and drinks table. He was more interested in getting a drink rather than stopping to talk to anyone. He wasn't especially friendly with many of the students and he wasn't overly eager for that to change.
The cups were right next to the plates and when he reached for one of the cups his hand bumped against a smaller girl's. He looked up in surprise then blinked. He knew her. He knew her from... somewhere. She was definitely familiar to him.
"Sorry." He reached over her for a cup then moved around her to get to the punch bowl, quietly getting some for himself. He didn't look back at her but... she was so familiar! The shape of her eyes, maybe? When he finally turned around he drank from the cup quietly before looking back at the shorter girl in the teal crop top.
He was absolutely sure he knew her from somewhere but the uneasy feeling was back. How did he know her.
"I don't think we've met, I'm Matthew, what's your name?"

Hyacinth snatched her hand back, dragging her eyes up the arm attached to the hand she'd touched, along their shoulders, to their face.
"No, you're alright." Her eyes narrowed slightly. Had she met this person before? Something about their face seemed familiar. She was good at remembering things like this; Prim once referred to her as "frightening" because of it. But where had she seen this person? She couldn't match their face to any of her memories.
Perhaps it would come to her.
"I'm Hyacinth," she replied. It still felt strange using English after so long. "Or Setsuko. It's up to you, honestly." She turned, scanning the table. Hm. She wanted something savoury. "I take it you aren't from around here?"

Hyacinth... It was Hyacinth. Definitely her! That would explain why she was familiar to him, and Hyacinth wasn't a common name! It was definitely Hyacinth... from Glasgow and the summer art days. His chest felt warm and light and he swallowed slightly, nodding and trying to shrug it off but ultimately failing.
"Ah, No, I'm from Scotland actually. Glasgow." He gave a side shrug, "Nothing to shout about really. How about you?"
Matthew looked over the food Hyacinth was currently deliberating over and picked up a tray of sausages from the back and offering it to her. He'd remembered she'd had sausages in her packed lunch nearly every day in the summer classes.
"Sausage?" He stopped for a minute and then started to feel the heat crawling up his neck, "That sounded like a Euphemism... and it wasn't meant to be, I just. I like sausages." He stopped again and shook his head, "This is starting to sound really fucking dirty." He put the plate down closer to the front, draining his cup before taking a plate for himself and looking through the foods, choosing mainly savoury things, "So, what class are you in?"

Kagami had always felt comfortable around Kage, which was really something for her; Kagami wasn’t comfortable around anyone but Kai, but even when she was mean to Kage the foreign girl hadn’t reacted to her with fear. Maybe that’s what had caught her attention; the fact that she wasn’t afraid of her. Of course, Kages… attentions to her sister would have been enough to catch her notice, but… Kage was really the only person Kagami could consider a friend.
And Crystal was with her, which wasn’t surprising being as they were a couple. Kagami could deal with Crystal. She never tried to pry or get too close to Kagami and even though she was always rather closed off and maybe even snapped at her from time to time, she never went out of her way to be cruel to her.
So when Crystal mentioned her avoiding Shiroyuri, Kagami didn’t tell her to go to hell as she would have someone else. She shrugged, glaring over her shoulder. “Yeah. The bitch is getting on my last nerve.”
Hearing Kages nickname for her, Kagami turned back to her friend. At first, she had really hated the nickname; she really didn’t like anyone calling her anything but her name. Over time she had come to accept it, though she didn’t know what it meant and, honestly, she didn’t care. She sneered at Kages question, glancing behind her to pinpoint where her sister was, off with some girl who Kagami didn’t know, then shifting her eyes back to Shiroyuri. “I hate how close they are.” She said quietly, almost to herself. The friendship Shiroyuri and Kai had was quite a cause for anger with Kagami. But whatever; as long as Yuri didn’t hurt Kai, she wouldn’t intercede. That much.
When the birthday boy arrived, Kagami didn’t join in with the cheering. In fact, she slunk back even further, standing behind Kage and Crystal though her height made it impossible for her to hide. She watched as several people went to congratulate the boy, Ryan, but again she held back. She didn’t even want to be here. With an annoyed look, she took the pin off her shirt and held it in her fist. Maybe she should just leave…

"She can be hard to handle, Kagami, but she's not as bad as you think." Crystal said softly, her focus turning to Ryan as she let him get settled in. "Treasa, Kagami, do you two want to come with me to say Happy Birthday to Ryan?" She asked. Crystal had become rather close to Ryan over the time she's met him. Not to mention Gene was always around Ryan; Crystal found that utterly adorable. Well, they were utterly adorable anyway. It's not like anyone could deny that...oh wait, Ageha denied it.

Kage nodded. She didn't much like Yuri either. The little brat was constantly quick to make fun of Kage, which usually ended in a letter opener being inserted into a wall halfway across the room. Kage remembered fondly the first day it had happened, catching only a few strands of Yuri's hair. A warning. "Aye, but Sith's always been quite friendly with everyone, so ye cannay really be surprised, Gnosach." Ryan arrived and Kage couldn't help but grin. She had met Ryan at school at...some point during her first two months here and they'd hit it off fairly well. She was sure it was through Crystal. She'd also met Finn....and while Kage wasn't FOND of him, she could tolerate him. Anything for Ryan.
"Aye. I want ter see the look on Ryan's face good and close, aye?"
