Masaru Honda
friendly - joking - warm - dorky
The homeroom teacher of Middle School 3-A, Masaru is a kind, fair teacher who wants to support his students' dreams the best he can. Having fallen back on teaching because of an injury forcing him out of swimming professionally, Masaru sometimes wonders what life would have been like otherwise, though he seems pretty happy to be a teacher, all things considered. As the supervisor of the Swim Team, Masaru is determined to take the team to Nationals.
Friends, Students, and Colleagues
Masaru is a pretty social guy for being so run of the mill.
- Chitose Takenaka - Masaru and Chitose met on his first day, and Chitose was kind enough to show him to the right building. Over the past year, they've slowly started up a friendship, starting at getting coffee for each other, to watching horror movies together, even though Masaru is a huge wimp about them. There's a lot of rumors surrounding whether they're dating or not, but they're just friends...right?
- Luke Reznik - Masaru first came to Luke asking about English, feeling he could learn more from a native English speaker and apply the knowledge to his own classes. This eventually formed into a friendship, with the two talking about movies they've seen, and getting to know each other during the various nomikai they've attended. They're pretty good friends in and out of work, although Masaru's a little jealous Luke has such a fangirl following.
- Reiichi Murakami and Kouta Kobayashi are both fellow colleagues that Masaru deeply respects, though Kobayashi moreso than Murakami - Kobayashi's been at Ouran the longest, it's amazing! They're both intelligent teachers who are great at their craft, and Masaru hopes to be as good as them someday.
- Ayame Washio is...strange. Masaru is grateful she helps out with the Swim Team, but she's eccentric and strange and honestly, he's not really sure why she's a teacher sometimes, she seems kind of unprofessional! She doesn't seem like a bad person though, just...
- Scarlett Iwasaki, Ethan Blake and Sho Watanabe are all in Masaru's homeroom and English/Social Studies classes, and along with them, he also teaches English/Social Studies to Suzume Suzumi. He likes them all a lot! He's proud that Ethan is slowly making strides to be more confident, and is a little worried Sho's planning some massive prank before he goes off to high school.
- Crystal Emmerson, Norimasa Washio and Ché Hayashi are all on the Swim Team. He has high hopes for all of them and thinks they're all pretty talented, though he worries about Nori taking on too much, since he's also involved with the student council.
Enemies
Masaru is pretty chill, but he can dislike people, same as anyone!
- Hana Uta - While Masaru would never call it outright hate, or even declare Hana an enemy, Masaru doesn't have a high opinion of Hana in general. He understands being asocial - it's the fact that Hana seems to hate bothering to socialize in general that grinds his gears, especially when he silently scoffs off anyone else's attempts to be nice to him. He's pretty sure Hana is the type to silently and scathingly judge everyone around them and think they're better than others. He's polite enough to Hana anyways, since he's actually an adult and all, but he pretty much thinks Hana's a douchebag.
He's dated across the board and doesn't really have a set type. Romance is definitely in the cards!
- He kinda sorta has a crush on Chitose. Kinda.

- Mmmmmaybe those rumors have a basis in fact? :^)
