"Or what? Ye'll hit me? I'd love ter see ye try, princess." Kage bit back a crueler insult. "Slacked off!?" she demanded. "I didn't grow up in money like ye, Ageha!" She dropped all formality. She needed to get her point across. "I couldn't afford the best schools or fancy teachers! I had me mum, that's it. And she died. THAT'S why I didn't have anyone ter teach me fer seven years, Ageha. Me da drank away our money. I didn't even get the opportunity ter do anything like this til I got here. Ye think I want ter be here? Ye think I want anythin' ter do with ye rich arseholes!?" Kage was crying now. Thoughts of her mother flashed across her mind and it took all her strength not to cave.
"I TOOK yer advice, ye blind, wee bairn!" Yeah, she called Ageha a baby. So what? "Why do ye think I've skipped out on some of the practices? I joined a class at the theatre because I wanted to prove ter ye I could do this."
She added for emphasis, "....ye won't be working with her. Ye'll be working with me. Yer right. She dinnay know what she's doin'. But ye do and I know enough ter help. So man the hell up and be a fuckin' captain. Take the bad with the good and be better fer it. Last year's captain had some pretty rough patches, dinna she? I heard ye looked up ter her quite a bit. Would she be losin' her head like this or would she meet the challenge head on?"

Was Munro... crying? Ageha kept glaring, confusion leaking across her face for a few, fleeting seconds.
"Do you think I care about your sob story?" God, she just wanted to leave! Why wouldn't Munro just let her do that? Why was she stuck on this dumb motivational speech crap? Still... at least Munro listened. It made sense, she'd always come off as so desperate. Always staring at her with those weird, sad eyes. "Don't talk about Linh like you knew her. You didn't. She wouldn't stand for this bullcrap either, I know she wouldn't! She was fair. Do you even know enough to help me get this team to nationals? What can you do?"

Her grip tightened. "I don't give a shite whether ye care or not," she growled. "I give a shite whether ye act like a captain or like a child. I give a shite whether ye abandon this team ye worked so hard to build up to nationals." Kage rolled her eyes. She didn't need to know the previous captain. A REAL captain wouldn't abandon her team like this and that was what Kage knew. A team was like a clan. A clan was a family. That made Ageha family, in a way, and she was certainly ready to give any family a boot in the ass. "I'm HERE aren't I? Which is more than can be said for ye right now. Yer ready to call it quits because ye didn't get yer way."
"And unlike you, I know all the routines by heart. Not just mine. Yours. Spencer's. The first years'. I can teach the steps and you can help them perfect them. But if yer still set on running away, then go."
She finally let go of Ageha's arm. "That's what a team does, Ageha. They work together."

"Stop acting like I'm the problem!"
How long was Munro going to keep at this?! Ageha took a step back once she was free, her mind set on the door, but her feet still rooted.
"I am not running. I'm leaving a bad situation. Why should I stay around someone who lies to me, who goes against what's good for the team to push her dumb ulterior motives, who's just hurt two of our best members, and clearly doesn't care about this team like I do?" She shot a cutting look at Ayame. She was so quiet now. Ageha hoped she felt every jab in her stupid, smug, ratty face. "I don't want to work with you. Not like that. You need to focus on catching up to everyone else here! If we have even one weak person, that's it for us going to nationals. You guys are the ones who'll hurt the team the most. Not me. I guarantee the rest of the team won't want to work with walking trash like Washio."

Kage's hand flew. She hadn't meant it to, but it did and it connected with Ageha's face. "GROW. THE FUCK. UP."
"Excuse us fer a minute, Washio-sensei," she stated, more calmly. She grabbed Ageha's arm and dragged her out into the hallway. "Now that the theatrics are done," she said with a sigh. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to slap ye. I got too inter it. Are ye alright? Ye were great, by the way." She made sure the door was closed before leaning against the wall.
"I had a feeling this would happen the minute she told me she "expected" me ter audition." Kage didn't particularly like her homeroom teacher. The woman tried too hard to get Kage to open up to people...to get past her fear. "We need ter get rid of her and find another supervisor." Her eyes watched Ageha a moment. "Ha." Then it hit her and a smirk played along her face. "So let's give her what she wants...fer now, anyway. Make her think we're gonna play along with her wee game....and in the meantime....we'll track down a teacher than can run this club the way it should be run."
She looked over at Ageha a moment. "We'll need ter get Spence and Souta in on this, too. I don't want them ter think I don't care about their feelin's."

Ageha felt it before she heard it—the hot stinging and tears sprouting in her eyes before the crack! She very nearly retaliated before Kage was snatching her out of the auditorium, into the hall. Munro was talking and talking and -- wait, what?
"What are you --" It hit her. Metaphorically, this time. Oh, God, that stupid plan again?! Munro was really going through with this? Ageha thought she'd told her exactly how she felt about it! It was dumb! Spencer was an idiot, but he didn't deserve that. Now Souta had been pulled into this! Ageha pressed her lips together. "No. You're insane. You --"
She paused at the mention of Spencer and Souta. Her eyes widened ever so slightly.
"What do you mean 'we'?! They aren't going to want to see you right now! I didn't want anything to do with this stupid plan, I thought I told you 'no!'" She scowled. "I'll find them myself. You and Washio are cut from the same disgusting cloth, you know that?!"

"I TOLD ye I didn't even want to audition for the damn position, ye bludy pain in me arse! What was I suppossed to do? Skip practice? I'm in her fuckin' homeroom!" Kage sighed and shook her head. "Spence of all people knows I didn't want this, but the only way we're going to keep her from realizing we're trying to replace her is if we make her think she has the upper hand."
"Ye want me back on bottom, don't ye? Ye want one of them as vice-captain and me well away from any leader position, right? Well I want that, too. The only way we can do that is to get rid of her as coach. Aren't ye tired of her bein' a manipulative arse? Then we need ter beat her at her own game." Kage knew Spencer and Souta probably hated her.
"Once Washio is gone, I'll be glad to give up the position ter one of them and slink back inter the shadows where ye donnay need ter worry about me. It's either that...or yer stuck with me as vice-captain and Washio's stupid ideals."

"It's called 'lying.'" Ageha rolled her eyes. Did Munro learn anything back in Farmland, or did she just roll around in hay all day? She doubted Spencer was aware of very many, if any, aspects of Munro's weird little life, too. It wasn't like they hung out. "How the hell is giving her what she wants going to fix anything? How are we going to replace her? Have someone walk in? Do you really think someone as stupid and stubborn as her is going to just give up power? We'd be better off just leaving and making our own team! Idiot."
Ageha finally spun around, ready to leave Kage behind -- but something hit her again. Munro may have been one of the biggest morons she'd ever come across... but Ageha was convinced in those few seconds that she herself was a genius. They could just make their own team.
"Look, I'm going to find Spencer and Souta. Do whatever you want." With that, Ageha hurried off.
