about || Ryan is not outgoing by nature, but he seems to attract people to him nonetheless, perhaps due to his naturally kind and open nature. He's easy to talk to and a wonderful listener. He has little interest in the Host or Hostess Clubs, preferring instead to stick to his friends, who mostly dedicate their time to musical or theatrical pursuits.


friends || Ryan's shy nature hasn't stopped him from making friends. He adores all his friends, and would do anything for any of them - some more than others, though.
❃ Spencer Reznik is one of Ryan's oldest friends, as well as one of his best. They met online during junior high school and, through a series of events, ended up at Ouran together. Spencer often protects Ryan from bullies, as well as any other perceived threat he may face. Ryan also appears in Spencer's Let's Play videos every so often, usually when Spencer and Finn are playing something neither of them know especially well.


❃ Ageha Okamoto is Ryan's host sister and one of his other best friends. Although they argue often over trivial things and Ryan constantly drags Ageha, they would still do anything for each other. He isn't sure why she hates Finn so much.

❃ Yu-ri Chen is another one of Ryan's closest friends. They bonded over being Korean and kind of weeaboos. He also enjoys completely destroying her in almost every video game they ever play - it's one of his favourite hobbies! He often goes to her to vent about Ageha.


❃ Scarlett Iwasaki was introduced to Ryan by Finn. Ryan sees Scarlett as a bit of a younger sister, and enjoys helping her with her problems. He's mostly glad she's approved of him!

❃ Airi Wakahisa is Ryan's fellow #HeartProblemSquad member. He started off feeling uncomfortable around her (how is she so chill all the time?) but that feeling soon dissipated. He's quite fond of her now!


❃ Crystal Emmerson, a childhood friend of Finn's, and Ryan have also hit it off fairly well. They usually only hang out together when they're both with Finn, but Ryan doesn't mind that. He likes her stories about Finn when he was little.

frenemies || Ryan has a few people he takes issue with. He's neither friends or enemies with them, but leans more towards enemies due to how they treat him or people around him. For the most part, he's still nice to them but chooses to complain about them to other people.


❃ Elene Saijo is kind of weird. Ryan likes her well enough, but she doesn't seem to like him very much. He isn't sure what's up with her. She's just... strange.

❃ Kage Munro is nice to Ryan and he likes her, but he doesn't like how she treats Finn at all! He doesn't understand why she hates him so much. All he wants is for them to get along for more than two seconds. It's really starting to stress him out.

❃ Suzu Murasaki is more of an annoyance to Ryan. He's only met her once or twice, but the things Scarlett tells him about her bother him. He realises she's just in middle school and no threat to him, but Suzu's crush on Finn isn't as secret as she thinks it is!


enemies || It's extremely rare that Ryan has actual enemies. They are people that have seriously hurt him or those he cares about. Although Ryan is kind, he's capable of being incredibly passive-aggressive, thanks to his time spent with Ageha and Scarlett. If someone is disliked by Ryan, they likely will not even know.

❃ Kenta Yamada is probably Ryan's biggest problem in life. He's just such a jerk. Just being around Kenta raises Ryan's blood pressure!


❃ Bullies. Ryan, like some other students, is bullied by some of his more uptight peers. Most issues come from misgendering, but he has also been a target of anti-Korean and Chinese racism, as well as mocked for his relatively poor Japanese skills. Recently, there's also been a string of nasty rumours pertaining to his sexual history. 


lovers || Ryan has never really been incredibly lucky in the relationship department. He's quite innocent when it comes to relationships.

❃ Finn Yamamoto is Ryan's first boyfriend. They started dating about halfway through their first year of high school, and show no sign of breaking up anytime soon. Ryan adores Finn just as much as Finn adores him, and gushes to friends about how wonderful Finn is at any chance he gets. They enjoy playing video games together, eating sweets, and spoiling each other - among other things.
