Ché-kun seemed down lately.
Kaori didn't quite understand why. Things seemed to be going well for him! He'd been accepted into the swim team and had just become class president! Surely that was enough to be happy about... but nearly every conversation they'd had held this strange undercurrent of sadness on his end. People who were happy didn't slump like that. She knew enough about happiness -- from being genuinely happy, and faking being that happy for commercials and shoots when all she wanted was to come home and sleep -- to know that much.
Maybe Ché-kun just needed a hand. Or cake. Cake made her happy; it seemed like a good enough way to cheer up anyone.
The Culinary Club didn't meet today, so Kaori had the school kitchen all to herself. With her hands on her hips, she looked over her spread of ingredients. Two room-temperature sticks of butter... Check. Light brown sugar, white sugar... Check. Eggs? Plenty of them! Ground almonds, flour, dark chocolate chips... Check, check, and check! It looked like she had everythi --
...wait...
Where was the almond extract? Hadn't she brought some along? Had she forgotten it somewhere? Frowning, Kaori spun on her heel. There could have been some in the cupboards somewhere. She swung one open, peering inside. No... none there. Maybe the next cupboard?

Sangmin's shoes tapped along the hallway, plastic bags crinkling loudly in his arms. Ingredients were piled up neatly in the bags, several receipts hanging out of the top. Flour, vanilla, oils, and more. He'd gotten the text right after class from Kouta about needing a hand grocery shopping. Usually they tried to rotate these type of duties between the members and supervisor, but Sangmin had been trying to help a lot since he was so new to the school. He really wanted to make it up to the rest of the club and be useful!
"So do you just keep the receipts and the school takes care of it later? They just pay us back?" Sangmin asked aloud. Next to him, Kouta had his own share of groceries. Keys jangled in one of the supervisors' hands, but as soon as they reached the door it was obvious they didn't need to unlock it. Someone else was already here on the day off?
Carefully with the toes of his shoe, Sangmin tapped at the bottom of the wood door to alert their arrival. "Kaori-San, can we come in?" He beamed at her and set the bags down. Her counterspace was full of ingredients. Cake? Cookies? What was she making on her day off? He felt nosy for being curious.

Ever since Sang-Min had joined the school and the culinary club it was like Kouta had a constant assistant for anything and everything revolving around the culinary club. Not that Kouta didn't appreciate the help, he was getting on a bit and Sang-Min's help with grocery shopping was very welcome. Almost like his very own Sous ! The thought made the man chuckle to himself. "That's right." Kouta smiled jovially at Sang-Min's question, "If I take the receipts along to the accounts office they'll reimburse me for what I spent for club activities, helpful really, I spend a small fortune on everything we use!" He laughed to himself as they approached the club room and it suddenly occurred to him that he might have to put his keys away, seeings as the door was already open. "Hasegawa-San, good afternoon!" He smiled so brightly the skin around his eyes crinkled. He was very fond of Kaori, very talented baker, and bright as a button in his world history class. "Everything going well?" He put the groceries down on the desk at the very front, usually his, and his eyes swept over the ingredients gathered on Kaori's table... She was missing something! Looking inside one of the bags he pulled out a small bottle of almond extract, and placed it on the corner of Kaori's work space, eyes twinkling happily, as he moved over to take the receipts from the top of Sang-Min's grocery bags. "Alright, I'm going down to accounts to get my money back." He chuckled, "I'll be back soon." He tapped his nose then smiled, leaving the room and heading off towards the accounts office.

He had missed lunch out of all the silliest things he did that was the biggest one. Well no. That time he skated down a thing of stairs and hurt himself, that was the silliest thing he done.
Since the Culinary Club won't meeting today Sho thought that he could just make his own lunch. Skating down the hallways he grinned a bit. Until one of the teachers stopped and started to fuse.
Sho let out a groan and rolled his eyes. He was so close to the classroom and he was hungry. Getting a idea he looked around.
"Yes Sensei I know I was wrong and I'm so sorry I- OH GOD SENSEI WHAT IS THAT?" Pointing at nothing the teacher turned and to look. Just as he did Sho run to classroom and slipped in.
Closing the door behind him he grinned. "Sometimes I amazed myself." As he notice he won't alone he blinked a few times and grinned again.
" Hey senpai's! Fancy seeing you guys here." He threw up a hand as he walked closer.

Kaori turned, trying to stifle her bristling. Why was everyone showing up now? She really wanted to be alone! Ah, but she couldn't express that. It would be rude. Hurt her image. No one wanted to talk to someone they thought had no interest in being around them.
She forced a smile, clasping her hands in front of her. "Of course, Jeong-senpai, Kobayashi-sensei! Hello~!" It looked as if they were just bringing in groceries. Maybe they would leave soon. Kaori managed to slip out that she was doing just fine before Kobayashi-sensei left.
But then came that middle school boy, Sho.
Kaori's smile weakened slightly. She'd just have to deal with this. With a quiet exhale, she turned back to her spread of ingredients, immediately spying the small, slim bottle she thought she'd forgotten. How and when had it gotten there? She'd just been looking for it a second ago! Kaori supposed it didn't matter. She turned on her heel to retrieve the mixer, thinking. There was no way she could be here with Sang-min and Sho and expect things to be completely quiet.
"Did we all have the same idea today…?" She glanced away from the cupboard toward the two boys, curiously.

Neatly pulling items from the bags, Sangmin started to open cabinets and organize things. Kaori seemed to be busy making another one of her amazing cakes. He wondered if there was a special occasion? "Sorry, we didn't meant to intrude Hasegawa-San." He preoccupied himself with putting things away, and trying to keep all the bags and groceries from Kaori's immaculate workspace. Half-turning his body, he watched as Kobayashi left with the receipts, leaving them alone.
This was perfect! Well, it was only him and Kaori, and the rest of the club wasn't here, but it could still get the ball rolling!
Just as he turned to face Kaori and raise his voice, the door opened again and surprisingly a middle schooler he didn't know was standing in the doorway. "Yes, fancy us, the Culinary Club, being in the Culinary clubroom." Sangmin said it with a smile though to show he was only teasing the younger boy, no ill will intended. His eyes darted briefly back to Kaori before he looked at Sho.
Curious as to why the middle schooler was here and trying to keep the conversations going, he asked, "You want to help put these away or you just dropping by?" Sangmin had at least a third of the bags packed away. Milk and eggs and cold things needed to be next. "O-Oh, Kobayashi Sensei needed assistance with grocery stocking. We thought no one would be here since it was an off day." He answered Kaori as the fridge puffed a wave of cool air on him as he opened it.
"But... since you're here, Hasegawa-san." He carefully began. Sangmin was still new here and he didn't know the rest of the club that well so it wasn't like he could just go on full conversations with them. Yet! Hopefully they would later on, though. Glancing towards the door, he made sure it was still shut and no footsteps were around them. "I wanted to talk about an idea?"

Sho rubbed the back of his head and smirked as he was teased by the other guy. "Yeah I know that was really stupid to say." He chuckled and started to head over to them. Placing his skate bored against the other side of the room wall so it wouldn't be in anyone's way he then turned back to the other two people. Nodding his head to Sangmin with a smile he then walked over to one of the bags. "Sure I don't mind helping putting up some stuff." Taking everything out he placed it to side away from the older girls stuff. He didn't want anything to get mixed up and whatever she was making comes out wrong. That would be so uncool of him! At some point Sho ended up in a bit of a jam when he remember that he didn't where any of the things he took out went.
His snapped up when he heard the girl asked them something. "I guess you can say that. I missed lunch and I thought it would be okay if I came here and make myself some." The boy replied as he rubbed the back of his neck the shrugged. "And I also wanted to maybe join the club too." He added as he turned and the items before him. A bag of sugar, chocolate chips, black pepper, salt and a bag of dried fruit. Okay this won't hard he thought to himself, he was pretty sure he could put this stuff away without the others for help. Besides he helped his mom put away a bunch of stuff away like this before in her work kitchen.
With a quick nod of his head he grab the sugar and open one the cupboards and placed it in. It looked like the right place where sugar would go right? Sho glanced over at the older boy when he heard that he had an idea but said nothing yet. That would have been rude to just to cut in on some else when they was talking so he stayed quite.

Uwaaah, he was late! Definitely late! Culinary Club was his favorite club ever and he was late and that meant they'd get mad at him or yell at him or kick him out and aaaa, why did Culture Club have to run over? He'd hurried down the halls to get to the school kitchen, ready to apologize once the doors were open but...
...ah...
There wasn't club, it looked like...
...but everyone was still there...?
Ethan stood in the doorway, flabbergasted. Cheeks turning pink, he hurried inside the club room anyways - he was here, he might as well enjoy himself, right? He'd always been a little nervous around Sangmin and Kaori since they were his upperclassmen - but Sho was there! Ethan liked Sho, he was always really funny. Ah, but Sho wasn't part of the club, was he? Which meant...
Timidly, Ethan headed over to his classmate. "D-did you forget to eat lunch again, Sho-san?"
